Safe
Theo shot in like a bullet, angrier than Mandy had ever seen him. Before Neal could react, Theo had reached him and swung a huge punch directly at his face. Mandy closed her eyes and a second later Neal was on on the floor, moaning and clutching his nose.
Theo stood for a moment, looking down at Neal and breathing hard. Then Mandy was in his arms, sobbing into his chest, and she knew that she was safe. Theo stroked her hair and held her close as he lead her away from Neal’s prostrate figure. Just as they reached the door, Neal staggered to his feet.
“I’m pressing charges, man! You can’t do that shit!” he yelled, still holding his nose, which was pouring blood.
“You’re the one who’s going to jail,” said Theo in a quiet, dangerous voice. “I’ll make sure of it.”
