I get that you’ve left things unsaid here, but there’s almost too little left unsaid – I don’t know what you need to add, but this needs something – take this out of challenge context and I’m not necessarily scared, this could be about a cat.
Certainly has potential, and the feel your going for is the right one to produce a chilling piece of flash-fiction, but I think a little injection of pizazz could do you wonders – perhaps not assigning the creature a gender for starters?
I very much agree with Mostly Harmless—specifics can hint at a wider world with more characters without giving too much away and losing horror. Right now it’s a little too general.
