i think you left out a noun after red.. Anyway, i think the detail about the seat belt is tragic. He chose to die quickly. Stupid safety locks, though they aren’t on the driver’s door usually. And how did the gang member have time to get under the car? I thought he was driving and slowed to get John..
This is a thrilling trilogy, you masterfully apply Chekhov’s gun to, it seems, almost everything! The turn of events is almost melodramatic, appropriate considering the inspiration. The last line is a nice little touch, stopping the piece from being too horrific considering what happens.
