This is a great series with definite hints of Paolini. The last line of this story is a bit Princess Leia, but I love this genre and I’ll be looking forward to more sequels! I like how you move along the characterization of the dragon and her wise mentor.
Haha, I hadn’t thought about that “only hope” bit, but yes it does sound a bit like starwars. I’m not sure how I feel about being compared to Paolini. He’s a decent writer, but Eragon always rubbed me the wrong way.

hey I wrote about a dragon on Ficlets and it was not like Eragon though in my head, I kept thinking, ’don’t write this like Eragon, don’t write this like Eragon’. Paolini used many elements from classic tales to build his. I don’t think we can help but be contrasted.
Thanks! For some reason, whenever I read the owls dialog out loud, I draw the who’s out into whooooooooo’s and give him a British accent. I blame the old BBC version of Narnia.
