In case you can’t tell, the ones scratching at the door are “zombies” and Frank is a vampire. The genre that I wrote this in, that is the opposite of my normal genre, is mainstream young adult fiction.
Okay, I have to be honest… young adult fiction is my junk food read of choice when I need something easy. I also work in a high school, which is how I justify my secret love of it. I’m not quite sure this entirely fits, although you certainly have all the elements that have turned YA books into bestsellers recently. I think it’s your word choice. The bloody teeth and armored fist seem a little out of place. However, overall, I think this is a great attempt to jump into a different genre. I haven’t been brave enough to do it, so I applaud you!
The title is my favorite part, but it’s all so juicy and ripe with YA goodness. You also lie sir, you read much more YA fiction just because it is so preposterous.
I should hope you mean the comment, not the story. This is obviously a sad and emotive tale of two lovers in a horror-stricken world. Definitely not hilarious, but deeper and more meani- wow! Stop me, the romance writing has hurt my brain!
