This story was, strangely enough, inspired by the song “Creepin’ Up the Back Stairs” by The Fratellis. Don’t ask me how I got this story from that song because I honestly don’t know. :)

I like it. A lot. I’m new here but this strikes me as something to strive towards. Good work! I also don’t know what ‘turgid’ means so I am about to learn a new word today too!

I agree with Mr. Quick. Turgid is a solid word. Same with coalesced.

The thesaurus is a wonderful tool. I refer to it frequently when I’m writing. :)

Excellent use of that thesaurus. You don’t see inexorable in stories very often. I especially liked the ending on this one.
