Tee and La:Whoa!!
He stepped forward, closing the space between us. Then he raised his hand. I stiffened, waiting for him to try and hit me. But when his hand touched me, it didn’t hurt. He gentily caressed my face. I froze, shocked.
“I guess you’re right. I do like the dark more than the light,” he mummered. Then I thawed out of my shocked state. I jumped back, pressing my back against the wall. His eyes looked into mine. Like if he looked hard enough, he could see into my soul.
Then the door opened, and Tee came in with a platter of sandwiches. She walked in, smiling. She gentily set the platter on the large chest, at the foot of the bed.
“What did I miss?” she asked. I swiftly went to her side, and smiled.
“Nothing really,” I lied. Thank the lord I was a great lier, and she would believe anything. I glanced at Varkus, and he was still looking at me.
