Good Bye Dane
“Dane!” I saw my brother drop to the ground. I ran over to him and held him in my arms. He had been shot. A thin trail of blood streamed out of the corner of his mouth while a lot of blood bubbled out of his chest. Ripping off my shirt, I pressed it firmly to his gushing wound. I tried to stay calm and assure him that everything would be okay. " Dane, I’m gonna get you out of here. You’re gonna be alright."
Dane coughed letting out more blood, “You’re not very convincing, did you know that?” I gave him a sarcastic look.
“Can you walk?”
My brother’s blue eyes seemed to peirce through me. “I’m not going to make it Sammy.” He coughed as I grabbed his hand. It was starting to get cold.
“No!” Tears started to flow down my cheeks.
Dane noticed, “Are you crying?” If it wasn’t so dark, I would have thought that he was smiling. “Total chick flick moment.”
“I was trying not to.” He coughed again, this time lots of blood bubbled out of his mouth. “Dane!”
My older brother gave me a final squeeze “I love you, Sammy.”
