The Dark Side of Castigation
“I get it now. The sad part is that she’ll never love you. You know that right? I mean, look at you.” He couldn’t smirk with his split lips but I got the message.
A train passed by in my head and in its wake I found myself hammering Jeremy over and over again. I forced myself to stop.
He had done it again. Somehow he had manipulated me, and with only a few words! I had to stop that or else he would make me kill him prematurely. Stephanie deserved better than that. I had promised her, even if she didn’t take it seriously.
I went to my car and grabbed a sewing kit from the glove box. It was a freebie from a Marriott hotel. The box was small, with the elegant cursive script flowing across the front. It seemed too good to use on vermin like him but I didn’t have any other options.
The only regret I had, as I started sewing his lips together, was that I had no skill at it whatsoever. It probably didn’t matter. I wasn’t going to complain about the quality of my work and now he couldn’t either.
