The story feels very bleak to me. I’m not sure how Panthera is related to the story nor am I sure what the relevance is of the last line. I know that many fathers don’t accept their role until they hold their babies. Other than that I don’t understand Yosef’s change in attitude. Or why he hated her in the first place. This is not criticism mind you but I feel very much like I am missing something. I know that some stories are open for interpretation but I feel like I am grasping at straws. There are moving phrases in there but they are among the bleak.
I searched and found a few links that I followed. There is some interesting ideas there and they do shed more light upon the story, I didn’t find the references for the final two lines.
