the stranger
He was holding a gun. And it was aimed right in my direction.
I hold my breath and close my eyes, bracing for what was to come. Then, I hear a gunshot echo through the streets; but not from the place I had expected. At the same split-second, I feel a sharp, piercing pain through my torso, but not the kind of pain I was waiting for. My body went limp and I feel my arm, then my cheek touch the cold cement beneath me.
My eyes gently flutter open to see the slowly blurring image of the armed stranger coming towards me. Showing an expressionless face.
Then I drown into the pool of unconsciousness.
