Talks With Violet ~3~
“Why do you always ask all the questions?” Violet asked.
“Do you not like that I ask so many questions?”
“I think it’s my turn to start asking questions.”
“What would you like me to answer?” Dr. Alan replied.
“W-I just wan—,” She started.
He waited patiently.
“I just wanted to know…why do people die?”
“Why do you think people die Violet?”
“I don’t know that’s why I’m asking you.” she retorted.
He sighed, “I believe people die…to make life important.”
“I just don’t understand why good things happen to good people…and bad people never get punished.”
“Is this about your mother?”
“Why did they let him go? I told those people that he was the guy. That he—he.” She continued.
“How does it make you feel that he wasn’t punished?”
“Like nothing I say matters. Like no one believes me just because I’m considered different by some doctor. Like I should never trust lawyers.”
She looked out the window, “But mostly it makes me feel like the guy who said that good never wins…was right.”
