He could see her petticoat? Surely she has become a fallen woman now! It is shameful and outrageous that you have written such smut. Next you may even mention her leg! I hope young men are warned so they are not exposed to the corrupting influence of such filth.

“Not even caring” throws off the otherwise beautiful tone you’ve set with the romantic language. Maybe “unruffled at the sight of her petticoats”. (Ha, it’s even a joke! It must be my lucky night.)
