A Dream Come True?
The doorbell rings and I mechanically answer. My heart stops as I see the person staring back at me. I try to mouth what are you doing here but nothing comes out. I choke up.
“I don’t know why I acted the way I did and thought that I didn’t want to be with you. All I know now is that I love you very much. You are on my mind all the time. I know I broke your heart, but I am going to mend it.”
He takes my hand and I tremble. Taking his other hand he lifts up my chin gracefully and time slows. I look into his eyes and the same sensation I have longed for so long washes over me.
“You are right, seeing you has made all the difference. I want you back into my life and this time I am not leting go. What do you say to starting over?”
I stand still, speechless. Leaning in closer I finally let my lips touch his. The fireworks I have missed so much spark inside of me
The alarm’s buzz awakes me. With tears running down my face I stare at the ceiling. I know this dream is a dream that will never come true.
