This story reminds me of that one Killers song I can’t remember the name of.

I like the random comedic quips here and there. I think it works well. You’ve created a serious unseriousness.

The first quote should have a comma not a period, but that’s me being nitpick-y.

Other than that, nice job, the dialogue seems realistic.
