“My Dad is a superhero!” Ben smiled wide showing two of his missing teeth. The kids in the class got excited. It was “Bring your Dad to school day” and Herbert felt a little nervous getting up in front of his son’s class.

“My dad’s name is Captain Fantastic!” Ben beamed.

The class turned around and looked at Herbert, when they saw him, some kids were disappointed. Of course they would be, Captain Fantastic was old news, Herbert knew it, and these kids knew it. The dad’s in the room however were excited to be in the same room with the superhero they grew up with. But like old time radio, Herbert was a thing from yesterday. The dads clapped louder than the kids. Herbert got up and walked to the front. He smiled at Ben, then the class. “Hey kids!" Herbert said.

Mrs. Baty the teacher asked, “Any questions for Captain Fantastic? Bobby?" she said to a portly kid in the back.

“How come you’re not as cool as the other superheroes?” Bobby asked.

Herbert sighed as he thought, “Out of the mouths of babes.”
