Unfortunately I can’t make the connection. :(

I probably haven’t read anything by the author. I’m not well read :)

@ Adam: I agree but I feel comfortable letting the characters do the talking for this one.
@ Gradual Uprising: There were no easy connections. I chose the hard boiled style of Robert Parker or Jim Butcher (more the former than the latter). Just a detective story.
