Blue House

The washing machine spins and spins and spins…
Little feet run up and down the stairs.
I can smell the blueberry pie baking in the oven.
The crust will be crispy and golden brown soon.
All the while, I sit and watch.

A four legged critter climbs out of the window to roam outside;
Outside near the green grass and tall oak trees.
An expecting mother walks along the hard wood floor.
The floor creeks, allowing its true age to reveal.
All the while, I sit and watch.

A birthday is celebrated on a chilly october day.
Wax drips off of the candles that are weaseled into the cake.
Not long after, a wedding is hosted in the backyard.
The backyard that has the oak trees, and leafy covered grass.
And all the while, I sit and watch.

I am the Little Blue House, and I sit and watch.
