This one gave me the shivers. Is the prisoner a fanatic? Evil? He sounds a bit crazed and the book just sounds dangerous. I truly enjoyed this. Well done!

Ah, very Lovecraftian. I like it. You set the scene through implication rather than exposition, and it’s very skillfully done. The subtle hand with the concrete details is nice, though I think some more tangible hints about what the narrator found (or thinks he found) could make it even more effective. Thanks for writing this!

Nice use of the quote, and a neat set-up, a classic ‘who is really insane in the story’ sort of situation. Hard to say which scenario is more dangerous for the doctor. Cool quote by the doctor too.
