Oh, I love stories like this, twisting everything through one choice, although of course Gandalf can’t just borrow an eagle, they have their own minds and probably wouldn’t have gone into Mordor whilst the Eye still lived.
…the figure in the shadows said, “this council’s proposal… should be …the figure in the shadows said. “This council’s proposal… It’s only a small thing but every little helps!
That was funny, and sort of takes the wind out of the great epic’s sails in an amusing way. I never did like Frodo anyway, so good riddance to the self-important little prick.
I enjoyed this, as I knew I would when I saw the title because I love LotR. And PJ, excuse me, but I think you’re wrong, and the comma should be there. You would be correct if it was Elrond speaking in the second set of speech marks, but I don’t think it was.
Wow…So Frodo still refused to take the ring off. Gandalf had to take desperate measures? Or was the ring stuck and Gandalf threw himself in? Poor Frodo. I would have loved to hear some of their “lively discussion” but I know about the character count. sigh Oh, and I’d like to hear Spock sing Bilbo Baggins… Well done!
