A lovely moment, all deliciously full of ambiguity and emotion. Nicely described without going over the top and a neat dynamic to explore. Even though we don’t have royalty and such nowadays, it still seems to resonate with that awkward-but-shouldn’t-be-awkward feeling of meeting an old friend after time has passed.

Thanks! I’m glad you like it. It’s been forever since I’ve picked up this storyline (work – boo!) and I had stopped just before trying to figure out how to weave in their past history. :P It doesn’t help I have about eight different versions floating around my room on scraps of paper, either. :D

Oh this is fun. I love different levels to their relationship. It seems class structures have put a bit of a crimp in it, but Shugo seems the type to do his best to straighten it out. This was a wonderful prequel to the other piece. Now I’ll have pleasant dreams. Well done!
