I am unfamiliar with the characters you have chosen, but they made me think of Tom Sawyer and Treasure Island, at least a little bit. Anyway, despite my lack of knowledge, I really enjoyed this story. It moves along well. I love the last two lines. It’s a hook that in a longer piece will keep the reader turning pages. Well done!
