Partners
“You sure you want to do this?” Dennis sat quietly in the car.
“Yeah, I’m sure,” Dennis finally said. Dennis did not want to get out of the car, he knew if he did he would betray his old partner from the 53rd. “Let’s get this over with.”
Dennis and Carl got out of the car and walked towards the warehouse guns raised. If the intel was right, Jon Weathers would be inside collecting his cut from the slum lord the precinct had been trying to catch for months.
Dennis nodded to Carl as Carl opened the door to the warehouse. Dennis rushed in and saw…nothing. Dennis knew something was up. When he heard the gun click behind him, he didn’t need to turn around. “You shouldn’t have come here partner,” Jonathan said.
“I’m not your partner anymore Jonny,” Dennis said dropping his gun. “He is.”
Jonathan turned around and saw Carl pointing a gun right at Jonathan’s head. “He’s had my back, you never did.” Dennis said.
Dennis cuffed him and walked Jonathan out to the cruiser. “Thanks Carl, coffee’s on me.”
