Good sequel! My only nitpick is that "the soldiers brought in their iron machines to bring civilization " sounds like it’s coming from the invaders’ perspective, not the perspective of the tribe. What does the protagonist think of ‘machines’? What is ‘civilization’ to him?
Awesome sequel, especially since it continues the twist full circle. At least how I read the first one, it seemed reasonable (like a kid on a his first hunting outing with a Native American sort of animistic feel), then it seems downright barbaric, like some crazy hill people in a horror movie.
Now you’ve brought it around to give the actions a greater context, importance, and even justification. Nice job taking the material and adding several new layers to it, even creating an entire setting in which it is taking place.
the idea of him filleting the chief to take over is sound, following in the prequel, but i think they should get some iron weapons of their own instead of a no weapons rule.. that was unclear.. the weapons were outlawed, or were they no longer outlawed.. oh well, he’s in charge now.
