There were a few parts where the stories seemed sketchy and I wasn’t sure about the flow, but after THIS it makes complete sense.
Well worth reading.
I’d say again that some of the prequels weren’t as cohesive as would’ve (in my opinion) been best – but it really fits quite well with the idea of a father summarizing his journey through love.
If there was some way you could be sure to draw the reader to each sequel, I’d leave that as my only suggestion.
There were some details that could be added, perhaps in passing comments, such as how he got shot? Maybe a reference to how he survived by another victim of the drive-by didn’t. Something like that would explain what had happened and (again, in my opinion) add a bit more to the impact of the speaker (father) as a survivor.
Final conclusion: The end made it worth it – I’m going to go back and individually rate each part, but the total rating (of the entire thing) from me is 4/5.
