I think that’s very nicely written, and conveys a sense of nervous rabbits knowing that the wolves are close. You have generally been very careful with your selection of adjectives and adverbs. With only one exception, they all contribute to the growing sense of dread. The exception is “blue”. Because it doesn’t contribute to the story, I felt that it disturbed the flow of the piece. Typo: tennants/tenants. I was also going to point out panelling/paneling, but I looked it up and found that your spelling is a acceptable variant.
