I found this delightful, which isn’t a word that I have great occasion to use. I think that in this case it has something to do with reminders from the young that solemn occasions should never be taken too seriously. Well done! Nitpick: In the final sentence of p.3, you referred to “them.” P.3 started off on green beans, then switched to servants. I wasn’t certain which of those was the referent for ‘them.’ I ultimately decided, because of the next paragraph, that it was the green beans. If I was right, then there’s perhaps too much distance between the pronoun and its referent.
ah good point august, as usual, and thanks for liking it so much! scrawler, be my guest, this was inspired by a comment MJY left on another story, so have at it! and Blu, yes a mini mush!
what was the comment. Sorry i haven’t been around much, i will fill you in on trhe internet fail we have been through this week. This is a cute and fun story i wish i had seen it first i would have enjoyed sequeling it.
@MJY the comment was on “Edit” http://ficly.com/stories/17545 and you said “and i like the comment about how two kids can meet and become partners in crime, just because they both hate green beans.” which was directed at Robert Quick’s comment to my story: “Children don’t have that luxury but sometimes the automatic acceptance is awesome to behold. Two kids can become “best friends” for reasons that no longer exist for adults.” A long, convoluted path to inspiration, but THANKS!
