aww come on, string those sentences together! more flowery description! You are cheating with the one word sentences dragging it out, cheating! But now I want a burger…
Haha, I’m vegetarian (2 years) and this definitely made me laugh =] I probably would have been in the disgust group, not the envy. And yeah, people actually do, frequently, try to be show offs about eating meat…I find it quite amusing.
I know this hurt! I go vegetarian for Lent every year and my friends all eat their gorgeous fatty burgers right across the table from me. It’s quite what August calls ‘purple’ even though it’s a little bit of a story rather than intoxicatingly detailed description.
Fun idea for a story. I’m not going to comment on the purpleness at this point, but I consider myself free to comment on other things. a) While I know that the term “each one” in the 3rd sentence of p.1 (and “they” in s.4) refers to the members of the vegetarian club but that isn’t what the words actually say. The referent for “each one” in the previous sentence can only be “noses”, and it will actually be a very interesting day indeed when noses can wear frowns, miserable or otherwise. A little bit of rewording should fix that right up. b) It isn’t clear to me why voluntary members of a vegetarian club would become depressed with salad at the sight of meat. Dare I suspect that these student members are vegetarians only during school hours?
haha, there are more reasons to be vegetarian. To lose weight. Because of religion. It may not be just the fact that an animal died. For instance, I was a vegetarian for a year, and I love meat. And i have no problem that animals die to make it. The only reason I did it was to see if i could.
I have been a vegetarian for so long i don’t really remember how long. I do remember i had been a vegetarian for a few years when i ate a hamburger thinking it was vegetarian hamburger, back in 1996.
i remember during my glory year of meatlessness i almost ate a broccoli cheese soup, but i notice the tiny pieces of bacon that WEREN’T MENTIONED ON THEMENU. =D
Also vegetarian (almost 5 years) and I hate it when you get served food (especially pizza) where there are bits of bacon in it. also no one seems to understand the difference between vegan and vegetarian.
@ Grad Up – how would being a vegetarian help you lose weight? It usually means (for me at least) choosing other alternatives on the dessert menu.
I haven’t read the challenge yet but I did love the story – I hope there’s a sequel!
yea..i hate when peeps dont get the vegan concept either. Idk, but i lost 40 pounds of my chubby ‘baby fat’ that year…so maybe thats just me…but i was really good at the vege part of vegetarian.
