Life is Waiting for Me
Walking these halls, I know my days here are numbered. With my books in one arm and my iPod in my free hand, I glance at that chaos around me. This place has become part of my home. It has become my security blanket. So many memories of the past three years are at this place. I didn’t just learn about derivatives and Kurt Vonnegut, I learned about life. Here, I was shaped into the person I am now.
But now, I never thought the place that would change me so much could tie me down. I feel stuck, and I am becoming a stranger in my own home. This place has become part of the story of my life, part of my past but not my future. The same faces I see everyday aren’t allowing me to change anymore. Life is outside these walls now, waiting for me, and soon I will be walking out the door.
Looking back, I don’t regret anything but it’s time to move on. It’s time to graduate.
