Tense scene. The first person, up close, description of Connor from the narrators perspective reminds me of good camera work in a movie, and it puts the reader directly in the line of fire, making it impossible not to feel anything from that close up.

Connor needs to stop worrying. Careful planning, a little seduction, and a lot of backstabbing/lying will get Jacob in her hands in no time.
