My jaw is on the floor. This is so great! We’ve just finished this in school, and what a great way to once again feel the power of the Civil Rights and of racism. I especially love the last line.
That was just pure tragedy. Very sad, but nicely done. I got lost for a second when it switched to present tense, but it worked once my brain caught up.
Wow! Shows the racism that went on, back then, and even now! Jaw dropping. The second sentence of the first paragraph took me a few times to get, but it was all good nonetheless. Great job.
Awesome, Elsha! I am reminded of seeing a white boy flinch away when a black girl walked past him in a crowded cafeteria. That was my one of my first introductions to racism in the south. How many parents unwittingly pass on these prejudices to their kids and regret it later. Sad that we even have this type of thing still going on.
