I love the child’s voice through this piece. Very good narration. The last two lines really finish the story off well.

Raymond Finn, I have read three of your stories on the trot and I have to say you are a superb writer.

I actually found this a little heartbreaking – just thinking about the repercussions of what you’re suggesting, a young boy losing their mother to some horrible beastly thing under the bed is deeply saddening as much as creepy.
