The Convert

When the famous postmodernist’s website was taken down, we wondered what happened. He was on the news recently for having survived a plane crash, so his fans expected something about the experience.
In two weeks, a new website was up – his name, his design, his picture. But the content changed radically. Where previously “herbal remedies” were advertised, now stands a proud banner of 10²³ and Doctors Without Borders. Where the powerlessness of science and uselessness of technology have once been expounded, now there are posts with a thankful, encouraging message – thankful to technological civilization. There is even a link to Pharyngula.
As it turns out the “expert” spent a week in pure, unadulterated nature, and had an epiphany there. He was a prey animal, not particularly good at finding food, keeping himself warm, etc. – you get the idea. Honesty has driven him out of the Arts faculty: he’d began working as a skeptic journalist – for self-sustenance while he gets his new degree.
(I can dream, right?)
