Fun moment. I think it could use a little more color in the form of adjectives and adverbs. Sam and Eli flew to the table like jets. the simile is nice.

Very cute little moment of family life, nothing overly dramatic or of some epic import. I like it that way.

So was mr Pulman just home from work or had he been stuck with the kids all day? That detail would color his character because of the line, “I’m ready for a vacation.”

Haha, this sounds exactly like my husband. He always says he is leaving on vacation for 10 years when our girls (we have 4) hit puberty. Great way to capture life in a normal home.
