The universe never gives us any more than we can handle, though we may argue that point in the moment. No family is perfect but I’m still sorry to hear about that. One thing I can tell you for sure is this: There are PLENTY of fish in the sea. Don’t get hung up on lost love or staring backwards in the rearview mirror. If you do, you might never see what’s coming in the road ahead.
And this phrase has always served me well: This, too, shall pass.
Humans are not great at handling change, which is really unfortunate because life is change. It looks to me as though you’ve got a lot of living to do right now. One thing has always served me well: know the difference between those things that you can change that those that you can’t, and focus on those things that you can change. If you need someone to lend a shoulder, send me a message.
Thanks, guys. You all are awesome. I really, really appreciate this. And I am not going to let these things bring me down. I refuse to. This, too, shall pass. I like the sound of that. It’s time for a few changes, and they’re going to be things that I want to change. I can’t tell you how much your support and these comments mean to me. Thanks, everyone.
Great metaphors throughout, especially the raging ocean of the world and your lack of confidence in your swimming ability. Loved the ending on a note of hope and defiance.
way to go Charlie! get that pencil back together! just write out the feelings in descriptive metaphors while things blow over. and that was such great advice by everyone else.. i’m going to leave it at this.
aaah…so often do I feel this way. May I suggest some superglue of coffee and cream cakes =[) to get that pencil fixed… Hope things start looking up for you. Abby x
