Admittedly though partially inspired by Toby Keith’s ‘Good As I Once Was’, the new television show ‘Justified’, and my own fantasies of being a few shades more manly than I actually am.

It’s very effective. The confusion you create with your word choice is great. I don’t know if you mean to continue this, but it certainly sets up well.

This is great. I can hear the pumping music, feel the humid air.

“I’ve been here a time or two…” I love me some Toby Keith. The story is a perfect reflection of the song that inspired you. It provides character, a background you can feel, and a taste of “action” (even if it is just a kiss, though some would say there is no such thing as JUST a kiss). Excellent work, it would have made a good entry for a variety of challenges too. Cheers!

I love the comment at the end. The words really paint a picture. I can almost smell those sweaty, drunk dancers
