I took out loan after loan until my credit rating was so poor only the shadiest of loan sharks would take my harrowed offerings and empty promises of repayments. I couldn’t give up on my life’s work – until I was made to. The company disbanded, and each of my creditors came, bit by bit taking everything I had.
Jason, Janey and I ended up in a one-bed flat in Glasgow, but one day there was a knock on the door. He asked and I replied that I had no more to give. That is when he marched in and pulled Jason over his shoulder as I held back my wife. Her screams still echo in my mind.
