Bizarre and weird. It definitely didn’t go where I thought it was going to based on the title. I like that it teases at the question of how people would react to such information, whether we really would embrace the monitoring or not.
Thanks THX 0477. I wanted to leave it slightly ambiguous. What are we saying goodbye to forever in this ficlet. Sin? Free will? Something else?
The title (in my mind anyway) was supposed to make people think I was doing away with religion, but then surprise them. The song gets a lot of criticism from sensitive theists, and they don’t seem to pay much attention to the final lines in that verse: Imagine all the people Living for today.
Wow. It’s strange that that might actually happen. We pay the ultimate price for knowledge, free will. I think that’s what got me here. The monitor would stop them doing anything.
A thought provoking piece Mr. Finn. The monitor would be not be noticed as everyone would think you were just another radio head. When do you expect the item to be on the market? (just kiddin)
