Your writing has a lovely dramatic tension to it, and the closing line was particularly nice.

I almost wish you’d made more of the dog/orchestra comparison because the points where you did use it worked really well.

Overall, the tone is hilarious. It’s realistic in both the general basic situation and the humor, which comes about via plausible events.

That last line suggests (to me, at least) that this burglar has been in similar situations before…

Very dramatic with some great elements. I would have liked it to come off the vague a bit—felt like a few too many uses of ‘a something-something’, as opposed to making it seem more specific with ‘the something-something’, if that makes any sense at all.

A very noisy comeuppance for this chap. He really did pick the wrong day and the wrong neighbourhood!

I like the way the whole piece swells to a crescendo, and then falls away to peace with that beautifully understated last line.
