Wow, what a bitch

He had come to the grocery to pick up a mild selection of items. A simple list, he needed ramen, some soda, a new stash of frozen pizza and bread. All previous objectives fulfilled, he had rushed to the grains to end the shopping adventure.

They turned the corner simultaneously, approaching from opposite ends of the aisle. Pushing their carts, he and this woman came to the bread in the same moment. The last loaf laid at rest on the bottom shelf, and the two bent over to claim it. Their hands bumped, and she grabbed the bag and placed it amongst her other items.

It was the first time their hands had touched.
