Limelight: The Hanging Women

Amidst the darkness of Limelight, shown occasionally by one of the many wandering lights that travel the vast black and white forest, is a women, hanging from a noose.

Almost skeletal in appearance, with skin stretched painfully thin over her bones, she wears a long, ragged black dress.

She hangs there all day, blowing gently in the breeze that passes through the trees. Sometimes, she gets bored of the tree shes hanging in and goes to hang in another.

Many of the shadows of Limelight fear her, but few of them know why. From the tales the spiders tell the other shadows, the women was a great witch called Serpent Tongue. Other spiders say she is guarded by another being like her. Few of the shadows remember the spider’s tales, but always there is fear, deeply rooted in many of the shadows upon each glimpse of her.
