That is powerful; the dying soldier crawling to the tombstone of his love. The sadness and empathy takes the place of disdain in this piece, but to make your readers experience so many emotions at once in such a short space is phenomenal!
Very well written. I enjoyed both of these stories. A very poetic kind of melodramatic scene like you’d find in the memoirs of some self-proclaimed warrior/poet. I’m reading Cormac McCarthy lately and this flavor is very tasty to me right now.
