My fave part is ‘so you will know where i’ve been by the smell" I liked a lot of this. I found the ‘go where I am taken’ part to be contrary at first and confusing, as I had imagined the wind as free, not something to be guided, and then it dawned on me that we harness the wind for many things. As this appears to be a metaphor for your life, the family trip part makes more sense, it just threw me for a loop the first time I read it.
Thanks! I only recently started attempting poetry after accepting that my high school English classes did not prepare to write poetry and that I just needed to go for it! I pictured “go where I am taken” as both being pushed along by the many natural and man-made things and also by whatever invisible forces create wind in the first place. I’m a science geek, so even being inhaled would be a very fun journey for me haha
