Realization's Dawn

Every day, a father and his son went onto a nearby hill to watch the sun rise.

The child could not understand why he was pulled from under his safe, warm, and comfortable blankets so early in the morning, just to see the light he took for granted appear.

He could not see why his father stood, eyes transfixed to the eastern horizon, not even using the minute amount of energy and concentration to do so much as blink.

But as the years passed and his life began to fill with the chaotic pressures and concerns of daily life, he slowly came to see the peace, beauty, and reliability of the sun’s regular appearance.

As his life went on, he married. Shortly after his father’s passing, his wife gave him a son.

Every day, a father and his son go to a nearby hill to watch the sun rise.
