Wow, that was very sad. Quite the tortured eulogy, I thought, or maybe I was reading too much potential resent and sibling rivalry into it. Nicely set up with the mix of emotions in the crowd to create a level of tension and questions.

I agree with THX in that you could feel the undertones of rivalry and resent which give it more interest than if it were just a “regular” eulogy.
One minor note though, I’m not sure if “Except begin” should be a separate sentence. I enjoy playing around with fragments myself, but it just seems odd to me for some reason.
