News of her
I sat on my couch, eating my frozen dinner, and watching the news. There were some riots going on somewhere and the police were getting involved. I swear, there was never anything good on T.V. anymore…
Then my whole world stopped because there, on the screen, she walked into view. I hadn’t seen her in 3 years, since she ran away when she was 14, but now she was on my T.V. She was wearing a yellow raincoat and walking right in front of the police.
“What are you doing?” I yelled at her thru the screen as tears started rolling down my cheeks. That was my baby, my daughter. What was going on? I was so confused.
I dropped to my knees in front of the screen to get a better view. Her brown hair was long and hung in wet streaks, she was crying. And that is when she raised her hands. What was she holding? A grenade?
I strained my eyes to get a better look and that is when she exploded.
The T.V. cut out to a “Technical Difficulties” screen but I knew the truth. The world knew the truth. But the question was ‘Why?’.
