As to the story, I did find it hard to believe that a man who had spent years writting his magnum opus on the back of scraps of paper would so easily finish himself off when it had it typed out. I feel that this guy’s neurosis need to be fleshed out a little more.
The great and powerful Krulltar was wrong… I guess it was bound to happen eventually.
after reading this again, I was floored at what I missed reading it the first time. For some reason I drew the wrong conclusion when I first read this. I didn’t realize he was writing suicide note. I assumed he was a writer who wrote his last story and commited suicide.
Anywho, more pencils added because it deserves it.
Whoa, this is great! I love the subtlety with the suicide note. A couple of things- you might consider saying he pulled out the revolver in the second to last paragraph, just to distinguish it from pulling the trigger.
Second, I feel that there is some past/present tense disagreement, particularly in the first paragraph, though I realize it’s difficult to communicate that sort of thing in a narrative.
