Is He Here?
“For me to believe what?” Arash asked. “For you to believe that he can deliver you.” The missionary said. “For him just to send me to hell. No thank you. I had enough hell here.” He said as he walked back to the shelter. “If you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins, you are saved, and you go to heaven. That’s what he wants you to do.” The missionary said before Arash left. Arash slammed the door. He remembered his friend telling him about God and how he was everywhere. “Is he here now?” Arash said quietly. “Can he possibly hear me?” He whispered. He slid against the wall and thought to himself. Can he hear my thoughts? Arash thought. He quivered at the thought and peeked out the window at the missionaries. “If God is so mighty, then why did he create sickness, and death and such?” One of his friends asked. “He didn’t. Man did. When Adam and Eve ate the fruit in the Garden of Eden.” Answered one of the missionaries. Arash turned away and walked back to the bed. Then, he fell asleep.
