This is great. I had thought that without the words to describe the feelings, the feelings themselves eventually fade, so it’s lovely to see that you’ve managed to envision a world where people can still have strong feelings towards one another, even if we can only ever describe those feelings as “nice”.

I really liked the last line. Just bringing the dystopia in at the edges!

I was intrigued by the idea of the awkward comedy of this poor man trying to express feelings he knows he has without knowing what they are.

I ‘m beginning to suspect we’ve read a lot of the same sort’s of books, Spiderj.

It’s an interesting take on the whole “control through language” angle. It’s a lot stronger in that regard than most, but with a lot less of the oppression.
