wait wait, flaws, right, a negative thing possibly, countered in the second part by merrily, a positive thing, so we are overlooking the flaws and watching this person saunter.. then therapy, which can be negative, or is most commonly cast in a dim light, but could be positive, since they were so happy to go there, early.. followed by NO HOPE, doesn’t make sense. You can’t be merry and have no hope. You can have your hopes dashed, but merriment is hopeful. so the flaws are real and there is nothing happy worthy of sauntering merrily, and it must be a brave face, a fake smile, and lying to the therapist about being happy is the oldest trick in the book. I’m so confused.
@Elsha I appreciate all of those thoughts you put down, Elsha. Give it your own meaning if it pleases you. I think its about forgiving oneself and accepting ourselves entirely along with all of our imperfections. The second part is a request really, it’s a benign demand to saunter over early for more therapy— that doesn’t mean you have to follow orders :)
Hmm… I got that you should embrace your flaws cos they gonna be there longer than any stupid romance you have. You can pretend to be merry but the fact is, like in Being Erica, life is just a therapy session and there is no hope. In the end we all die and that’s it.
i was putting the two parts together, because the first bit of wisdom shouldn’t be separate from the rest of the acrostic. I did kind of read it like PJ did at first, but when I tried to look at it again I got all befuddled. I like reading your interpretation, what you meant when you wrote it, however.
